Our Friends and Neighbors
Union Church
Union Church is our fiscal sponsor and the physical host for the majority of our events, including QMOSQUE. To put it plainly, our growth over the last three years would have been entirely impossible without Union's generosity, flexibility, and stewardship. They are essential to our ability to provide both material and religious support to our congregants and community members.
Located in Boston’s South End, Union Church is a historically Black church situated where organized Black Islam first flourished in Boston. Union's first pastor, the Rev. Samuel Snowden, was a formerly enslaved abolitionist, and the church was once a stop on the Underground Railroad. Union Church locates our struggle within the various forms of oppression that bind us. Their leadership and support remind us what interfaith work truly requires: that we collaborate in earnestness in order to build radical, innovative futures together.
QMOB organizers and community members regularly attend weekly Sunday service, and we highly encourage our community to do the same. If you're curious about attending, you can learn more on the Union Church website.
Wicked Queer
We've had the joy of collaborating with Wicked Queer for several years. You can usually find organizers and community members at their events year round — presenting films, sitting on panels, or just hanging out. Sign up for our mailing list to get updates on our next collaboration.
Dyke March
Boston Dyke March is QMOB's main Pride tabling event. Find our organizers posted with a large batch of halal lemonade, stickers, zines, and handmade merch. Sign up for our mailing list to learn more about our Pride event calendar.
