Queer Muslims of Boston
And He has subjected for your benefit the day and the night, the sun and the moon. And the stars have been subjected by His command. Surely in this are signs for those who understand. — The Bee (16:12)

Our Values
All people who identify with Islam, whether by faith, culture, or background, and regardless of relationship to practice and belief, are welcome at QMOB. We especially center the voices of those who are less frequently heard in Muslim spaces including queer and trans Muslims, Black Muslims, women and femme Muslims, disabled Muslims, and Shi'a Muslims.
Our community is both diverse in perspectives and explicitly committed to operating outside of discriminatory, oppressive, and/or carceral frameworks. That means that anti-Blackness, sectarianism, ableism, racism, sexism, classism, fatphobia, homophobia, transphobia, Zionism and all other forms of oppression are not welcome here.
Additionally, for the safety and privacy of our community we do not allow entry to any form of law enforcement at our events, including but not limited to police officers, ICE, and FBI.
We urge our community members to lead with kindness and respect each other's identities, bodily autonomy, and religious (or non-religious) expression. All forms of practice and non-practice are welcome and we do not impose religious standards or correct each other's practice. We do not segregate by sect, gender, or expression and welcome members to pray or not pray wherever and however they are most comfortable.
Join Our Mailing List
Sign up to receive details about upcoming QMOB gatherings, including QMOSQUE Jummah services and community events. Not all events are shared publicly on Instagram — in an era of mass surveillance and heightened community risk, our mailing list is the most reliable way to stay informed. As our safety protocols continue to develop, we ask that you sign up and read our emails carefully to stay current.
Donate To QMOB
QMOB is a grassroots organization sustained entirely by the generosity of our community. Everything we do — from our monthly QMOSQUE Jummah services to our holiday gatherings, Quran Circles, and community support work — is made possible by the people who show up for us. If our work has meant something to you, or if you believe queer and trans Muslims in New England deserve a community of their own, please consider making a donation.
Your contribution goes directly toward events, programming, food, and the operational needs that keep us running.
